Went half way up Mt Hamilton to see the 2016 Perseids meteor shower last week. Took a bunch of long exposure photos in an attempt to catch at least some of those meteors, but only came away with a handful of faint ones as the big ones were off camera, or between exposures!
I’ve instead turned 116 of those photos into this timelapse.
The glow off the the left is the light pollution dome coming from San Jose. Most of the streaks are aircraft, a handful of satellites and at least 2 faint meteors.
Of all the shots this is probably the only one that has a full meteor wholly within the frame.
